while doing some tests to verify Chad Terpstra's observations about loss of
res when rotating footage, i also noticed another oddity. when rendering the chart without any added changes in color to prores hq (or to dvcpro hd) color added these faint ghost line artifacts to the image (see below). if one renders the same image out as proreshq in fcp it does not add the artifacts. anybody any idea whats going on?
the samples were exported as stills from fcp and scaled to 400 percent with image magick's convert:
