Changes not relinking?

I've graded and rendered a sequence in Color, sent it back to FCP, all fine. I've started to build effects and stuff on the FCP sequence, but I need to make some minor changes to a few of the grades.
I open up the Color project again, make my changes, select the shots I've changed, add to render queue and Render. All fine.
However when I return to my FCP sequence what I'm seeing there is not reflecting my changes.
If I check in the Color Renders folder for a specific shot I see something like:
17_g1.mov
17_g1.mov Copy 1
The non-copy one (17_g1.mov) has the newer timestamp, and looking at it in Quicktime it seems to be the right one too. The other is older, and does in fact contain the previous render.
In FCP I can see that indeed the piece of media in the timeline is pointing at the correct file, but it's not showing me what I actually see in there in Quicktime. Even if I reconnect the clip manually to the later grade I see no difference.
What am I missing here?
Nothing in the FCP timeline is rendered yet.
