what is HD monitoring with AJA IO HD and Color

I realise that the PAL HD signal will not come out from an AJA IO box through Color, footage is telecined from 16mm to HDCAM and then brought in Prores
need to grade an HD short this week and wondering what is best way to monitor the signal
I have a decent JVC LCD HD monitor and a sony SD monitor CRT which is OK and what I have been using for grading an SD short
what should I be grading on if the final delivery is HD, I would imagine the JVC altough wasnt sure how it will deal with SD signal and how it sees the color space when it is downcoverting from the AJA box. Is it 709 or 601 PAL?
I do realise I am being rubbish not publishing the monitor names but I dont have to hand, this question is more about how do I do HD with an AJA IO though I suppose.
thanks ben
