[Mitch Sink]
"Looks to me like the 8800 GT is a poor choice and the default 2600 is fine: "
Only problem is, the 2600 in Final Cut won't let me apply filters or even a color solid (to create a widescreen mask) to 1920x1080 10-bit images. I get an error message along the lines of "Your graphics card can't deal with this. Go buy something else that may or may not work!" An X1900 with the firmware upgrade eliminated this message, but now I am constantly getting "Preparing Video for Display" as though I was back in FCP 3.x!
