DPX output from color - wrong headers - won't import in Inferno
by Toke Trangbæk (trtmac) on Mar 18, 2008 at 8:49:02 pm

Hi

We have this workflow:

Shoot on Varicam 25 fps
Capture 10bit RGB full range using Kona 3
Output DPX with gluetools
Import to Color with cutlist
Export from Color to Lab for print to film.

BUT when we deliver at the Lab they can't import the DPX-files into thier Inferno!! Also we can't import into After Effects or Smoke. But Shake, Combustion and Photoshop is ok.

The lab tells us something is wrong with the header in the DPX-files. They appear to be 8bit and 33 pixels times 5000 something!!!

Any idea on how to export correct DPX-files from Color???

Best regards

Toke, Fridthjof Film, Denmark
