understand all the debate so far
might i suggest if it is
art
and
color
as subjects then maybe look at the masters, the old masters (leonardo, velazquez, itten)
anyone involved with something that involves color of any sort should look at cultural references as well as anything cutting edge looks and technology
this is what other creatives will find the real inspiration, how they come up with ideas in my opinion
maybe take a look at how similar Gladiator is to Albrecht Altdorfer in the first fight scene or Claude Loraine elsewhere
