lots of hard drive crashing

have been having issues with a drive where i am working on color and was wondering if anyone has had problems with large data files sent to color e.g. a 13gb DV file (which is cut much shorter in final cut pro timeline but still links to the master clip in final cut)

my drive keeps messing up on render on color but not so much other software however I am trying to work out if it is just a fault with the drive

sequence sent is 109 clips and 10mins long
