When you overwrite a file, the OS removes it from the system. It doesn't put it into the trash, it basically erases it from view. It's gone and you cannot get it without using data recovery software. It isn't ERASED...the data is there, but the OS basically says "OK, the area that this footage exists on the hard drive, is available for use!" If you don't copy any more files to the hard drive, it'll stand a good chance of being there.
So you need to get drive recovery software to recover this. WHAT? HOW? No clue...I haven't used any software like that in a long time
