UPDATE:

Solved the problem w a little more searching...turns out I just needed to re-calibrate my 46" monitor...

It was on the wrong setting (1080i instead of 1080p), and also, apparently color won't read any of my monitor's stock 'Color' settings (the HD setup...'Color LCD', 'HD 709-A', etc) unless I actually use the 'Calibrate' function and create a new one. Then I'm free to switch between any of the stock Color settings (this probably makes no sense, but it's the best explanation I could give w/out showing any more pictures)
