Its called "pre-flashed". There is also some what-looks-like lens flare plus "edge-flashing" reminiscent of what happens when you change a day load outside a bag.
Used to be a lab technique where you would run the neg out in extremely subdued light so that it already had a low density characteristic -- black (transparency) is pre-raised, so an opaque print cannot be achieved.
Heck, throw on some bleach bypass and cross-process it and no cliche will go unturned.
