I don't have an answer to your problem, but last week I needed to convert a feature I color graded and rendered to DPX (linear) to Apple Pro Res. We couldn't render to Pro Res on the windows computer and so I used Apple Color.

Everything went well (22 hour render on my laptop LOL), but the resulting ProRes file has a gamma change that makes everything too light. There were no grades applied to the DPX files.

Is this a bug in Apple Color?

I had also tried AJA DPX-RGB application and then converting to ProRes using quicktime and there was an even greater gamma change using that method.

BTW, it's not a log/linear thing, just a rendering issue. Any comments? Helpful suggestions?

Upon close examination, the DPX files show the change in the Color Scope even before render.
