When you say you "baked it out" from Premiere I'm assuming you exported a self contained quicktime movie. So there was no need to take this into FCP at all, you can just bring that straight into Color.
But what are you using the "Roll Tool" for in Color? You can't roll anything in a self contained movie.
When we use the term "baking" in this forum we refer to making self contained movies.
