yes but that is what I'm saying...the GPU to I/O card handoff is believe it or not a complex task and is limited by lots of things including underlying system bandwidth. I was merely saying turning off video playback on your Mac Pro you'll see a large increase in playback performance. Turning of UI updating will also help and the sweet spot for me is no UI updating but with video output obviously on. But on a whole I agree poor frame rate performance is an issue that must be #1 in the next update
