I'm not a high end guy so I'm give my opinion from a small one man shop. Get a Dell 24", be done with it, You cannot grade with it. It will show the image but you cannot use it to judge, for that you will have to trust your scopes. You will be able to match your shots, one to the other. You will have more UI to work with but you will not have a grading monitor.

Not bring harsh it is just the way things are. You are talking about a non-Broadcast solution.

If you want more computer real-estate then it is worth spending the money. If you really want a low end grade solution you have to save up for some thing like a Matrox or AJA box that gives you external video then look at the monitors (not computer monitor) that you can afford. Of course you are now well over a grand on the low end of things.

Just my 2 cents.
