Calibrating Monitor

I have cut a film in FCP 6, and am now color correcting in Color.
-The image looks good in Color, but when I bring it back into FCP, I see a haze over the image. From what I hear, this is because my monitor is not calibrated.
- I am not using any high tech monitors... just a Dell - 23" Widescreen Flat-Panel LCD Monitor
- I live in LA (Los Feliz) and need to hire someone to come to my place and calibrate my monitor... or figure out an effective way I can do it. Any help? tips? etc.?
