[Maurik de Ridder] "Since you have the 2450W, which is the 8 bit panel (10 bit processing)
what would you expect to be the difference...
And do you think your grading work will benefit alot from having a 10 bit panel... "

I really don't expect the eye to really see a difference. The only thing that I would really expect to be different would be an absolute absence of banding in any way shape or form. But then I don't see banding on the 2450W.

The one big advantage of the LED backlights is instant readiness. The 2450W and the other flouresent backlight panels require a 30 minute warmup to come to full accurate color. The LEDs are ready as soon as they are turned on. We saw this when Dan brought the 1770W over to compare to our 1760Ws. Since there's only a $200 difference between the two panels, we're ordering the 1770Ws for our new facility. And of course the LEDs run cooler with very little power draw.

No, I don't see any benefit to purchasing a 10bit panel for our facility. There are folks on here who absolutely must have 10bit for their work, but we don't. The 8bit 2450W works perfectly and I'm planning to add two more of them to our new facility. We'll switch to a 10bit panel when we need a new monitor and 10bit is all that FSI is selling. :-)

But I will be getting a first-hand look at the monitor in the next few weeks so I'll let you know how it looks.
