Re: I have no viewer in Color

Hi all!

I'm an Apple Color Trainer and it would bug the hell out of me as this would sometimes happen to me when I was at home, reviewing some of the material the night before delivering.

During the course, I would hook my Macbook to a projector/plasma and then launch Color with no problems - Mirroring would be on.
I'd go home and try it at home and it would not show me the video element on the viewer - whether I had a second monitor connected or not - and it was very frustrating.
I'd then go back to the training centre the following day with fingers crossed and it would work fine!

It seems on initial launch Color must be caching some info in relation to the resolution, monitor connection and color profile for the monitors connected. I tried deleting the preferences but that didn't do anything so it suggests to me the info is being stored somewhere else, maybe within Color itself.

The long and short of it is this, you can try one of two things:

1 - you can change the resolution of your monitor, turn color on and off a few times and maybe it will pop back again (I didn't get any luck with this one)
2 - you can go to the Displays setting in your system preferences, change the Color Profile to a different set-up, open Color and you should then get your viewer back! You can then switch back to the profile you were originally using, with Color still open, and all should work fine from this point (this one DID work for me!!) even if you quit Color and open it again.

Hope this helps, not sure if this is fixed in Color 1.5, lets hope hey!
