Not entirely true. You are more likely to get a clipped or crushed image from a best light. Since a best light is trying to create a look - closer to the final color. So the best transfer would a be a one light - that is a low contrast/whites under 100 and blacks above 0/minimal drama to the look as possible, that way all of the signal is there for you to play with. Some Post houses call this a VIP transfer and is the safest way to insure that the dailies colorist does not introduce noise or create a signal that can not be manipulated in the digital world.
