I think I gave you quite useful answers for your situation in my very first reply.

Regarding probes, I second the DT-94, if you can find one. It's more stable over time and has less tolerances to start from. The Spyder3 in my experiences shows pretty wide production tolerances.

And proper lighting is not that expensive…
