System crash when rendering "Core Glow" effect

Hey guys,
I've been having some consistent system-wide crashes while rendering the Core Glow effect in my FCP timeline. the sequence is fast-mo to slow-mo hockey footage, colour corrected with 3-way CC then Core Glow added. I've also tried removing 3-way CC, still crashed entire system when rendering.
I've also tried removing core glow and using a different filter and/or stack of filters,, and sequence renders no problem with out core glow, no crash.
If I render each clip one by one,, I will get further in the render before system crash,, but it still crashes.
Below is the crash report/system details. Always the same panic.
panic(cpu 1 caller 0x00128DA7): {1} Assertion failed: file "/SourceCache/xnu/xnu-792.23.3/libkern/c++/OSObject.cpp", line 267: mem
