Ken Burns Plugin issue?
by Jonah Gruber on Sep 24, 2009 at 6:56:56 pm

Hello all. I'm a video editor here in Chicago for a nice media production company/ad agency, and I'm doing a little side project that requires use of the Ken Burns plugin. However, when I load up FCP and follow the tutorial directions, I have the following problems:

The FXFactory logo does not appear at the top, which makes me think that there is something wrong concerning the install of the plugins themselves.

I want to pan and scan an image, but it will not let me choose an image path. Even if I disable setup mode. It's weird, because I got this thing to work on a previous install when I was just fiddling around.

If I choose the Project Media option, the canvas changes to a well screen, prompting me to pull media. Doing so only overwrites the plugin with the image I am pulling, it does not apply a pan and scan to it.

To try to fix the problem I uninstalled FXFactory and reinstalled, then rebooted, then started Final Cut again. Didn't work, same problem. I don't want to go back to keying scans, especially since this project will have tons of them!!!

Is there something I'm doing wrong? How do I get this plugin to recognize the image I want to pan and zoom around?

Hasty reply would be much, much appreciated! Thanks!
