Sound in after effects

Hi everyone. i hope you are all well

I have a question for aharon.

In after effects how do i enable sound and be able to render with sound? i have a project which i am doing for a friend and i tried to play the bit of video in after effects but i couldent hear anything. i play the file in windows media player and i get sound. is there anything i can do in after effects to fix this?
