Basic Capturing Advice

Hi
Last Sunday was my Churches second annual event "Church On The Green" This year we decided to film the whole thing.
I have about 5/6h /tapes of footage and I am currently converting all the footage to my PC via OL, to edit i am using P-PRO
I have relised that P-PRO doesn't like long footage
Is there any easy way of cutting the clip to the right scene without having to constantly use the camera and the tapes
I am aware of Audio Scene Cutting, however as this was an outdoor event the audio is sometimes quite erratic
Any help much appreciated
Dan
