I'm like you... an OnLocation newbie but as I see it, OL can record and write only one AVI at a time. If you are looking to record multiple video streams from multiple sources, you are going to need multiple recording decks. Have you ever considered using a video mixer/switcher. This way you can take in multiple signals and output them to your recorder/laptop/Firestor. Just a thought.
