Re: HD2 and laptop

found this thread about software activation issues with HD2.

http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?t=83979

This poor fellow purchased dv rack hd2 software on Sat Jan 6th @ 11pm and it wasn't Activated successfully till Thu Jan 25th @ 12:35 noon.

This wasn't an isolated case if one cares to read through the 6-7 pages of posts.

What a nightmare. I have had similar frustrations with adobe and serious magic in just trying to download and run the HD2 trial, which doesn't work or exist.

Anyway, curious to know if anyone knows if the registration process has been fixed or changed. I don't change my laptop often, but do get a new workstation frequently and therefore am constantly reinstalling my software. I also rebuild from scratch if computer has problems or slows down. I own every piece of software I use and can say from past experience that Adobe is on the list of companies where activation can be a problem. I own 2 current copies of Photoshop and 1 of the 2 versions from photoshop has problems every time I install it. I have to call them and take an extra 10-15 minutes going through menu's.

Not looking forward to going through that again so am trying to find out if the problems of activation that are in the above thread are still present. This product might not be worth the headaches.

Maybe there should be compensation for time lost from the software companies when there activation process screws up through no fault of the end user. We all understand why activation is there, but it's mainly the legit users who get caught up in the problems.

Anyway am interested to know if anyone has any history or knowledge of installs/activations from the last few weeks. Hopefully they have be fixed.

Thanks
