Restore function

Hello,
I recently deleted all "Other" in my ipod through the "RESTORE" button. The amount of space taken by "other" went from 200 to 21Mb. Problem is that now the music from the ipod doesn't sound as well as it did before!! What happened?? Can I possibly go back and, if yes, how?
