Podcasting video content for paying customers
by Lee Burrows on May 10, 2006 at 4:18:11 pm

Hello. I have really enjoyed reading the articles about podcasting. I am a newbie in this world. My compnay produces video content for clients that has primarily aired on television and now we have a current client that is interested in seeing the costs of podcasting either a weekly or bi-monthly 30 minute program via podcasting. I wanted to find out what would be the best camera to shoot things intended for podcasting primarily. Would it be a Sony HDV camera or a DV PD150 camera or something else that you recommended? I also wanted to find out if there is a company that manages podcasting and RSS feeds of programs for clients? I was reading about feed burner and wondered if there was company out there that managed the RSS feed or podcasting portion for you if you had over 30,000 customers that had to receive an e-mail with the RSS feed/podcasting info.

I enjoy producing video content but am not really looking into managing that area of a project. I would like to learn about it and can manage it if need be but would prefer to avoid it if possible.

My goal is to produce the content and prepare it to be viewed via a podcast via a H264, mpeg4, photo-jpeg, wmv or real media file and then hand it off to a company that would take care of getting it on a website/server sending out the necessary info to the customers for viewing so that they can see the material and hosting the material if need be. I assume Apple, Inc. as mentioned in earlier e-mails handles all their TV shows with all their man/woman admin power.

Any advice is really appreciated:)

Thanks

Lee
