We have a national client which uses satellite to download an audio file (kind of a 45 minute radio prgram) to 200 outlets which the staff then listen to via a Scala player and a TV set. However there are a number of outlets not receiving these files due to the additional costs that would be incurred by the data sat feed.
What I thought could work would be (as I understand it to be) a podcast where an outlet would have iTunes or a similar player on their machine which in turn would subscribe to a central server which would hold the relevant file. This would not have to be live but simply playable the next morning.
Client is concerned however that the IT dept will shout 'no bandwidth' if the file sat on their intranet server. (apologies if I am being obscure but I suppose I am being just that)
I was kind of hoping that the podcast would gobble less bandwidth than i.e. an email with a hefty mp3 attachment.
Many thanks
