You need to tell us more about what you are trying top accomplish:
(A) Are you creating an MPEG2 DVD to play on regular DVD players?
(B) Are you actually putting AVCHD onto DVD media to make Blu-ray formatted disc to play in a Blu-ray player?
(C) Are you just dropping AVCHD files onto DVD media to make a data disc to be used with a PC?

Quality and size are diametrically apposed. If you want smaller size, you must sacrifice quality.
