redline

Hi you all. I'm back. You thought you were shed of me? Not quite.
A simple problem but beyond me. Through the video track is a red line. I move the line up and down and it looks like the brightness changes from white out to black. and it runs through the entire track. When I put the finger on the line the word "fade" appears. The line is in the middle of the track for normal contrast and brightness. I've looked at event fx nothing to indicate any thing there. Looks like it may be a fade function of some kind Where do I change this function.
