The current version of Movie Studio HD is 11.0. You are two versions behind on 9.0. I think you will find a few more rendering options by upgrading your software to match the video files you are trying to work with. I would download the trial of Movie Studio HD 11.0 and see if it has the rendering options you need.

I would also recommend that you purchase a Blu-ray burner if you are interested in making Blu-ray discs. It makes no sense to burn AVCHD to DVD these days. That was popular several years ago when Blu-ray media cost $25 a disc and Blu-ray burners were $699. Now you can get a Blu-ray burner for $99 and discs for $1 so playing around with AVCHD on DVD not worth the trouble. Make a proper Blu-ray disc if you want HD.
