[madison paige] "... I looked away, came back and letterbox bars. When I render it, they're still there. I can't get rid of them. What am I doing wrong?"
Well... looking away was your first mistake but there's not much you can do about that now. ;-)
The key to not letterboxing is to keep your project, your cropping, and your render all at the same aspect ratio. I assume your video is 16:9. Make sure that your project is also 16:9. The easiest way to do this is to use the
Match Media Settings in the
Project Properties:
I'm going to assume that you didn't use Pan/Crop on any of your events but if you did, make sure that you right-click the frame and select
Match Output Aspect to make sure that the crop stays 16:9 just like your project.
Finally, select a render setting that is Widescreen 16:9 so that you don't get any letterboxing. It would be even better if the render dimensions match the project dimensions but as long as the aspect ratio stays the same you should be OK.
If this doesn't make sense, then please take screen shots and show us your Project Properties, Event Properties, and Render Properties so we can see for ourselves what might be happening (and I promise not to look away).
