Just an FYI to to others reading this post, PNG files have an alpha channel so they are transparent and great for overlays, lower thirds, etc. If Corel X4, which is a vector based drawing program is out of your reach $ wise, try Inkscape. I find it particularly useful for for making PNGs It can be found at http://inkscape.org/
