Sounds like you've just upgrade to 8.0c which previews in the TRIMMER. To get your original functionality back, open the trimmer, and click the 4th button from the right side above the trimmer window (I think it's the 4th one...) In Vegas Pro 9, the help popup reads "Show Video Monitor".
