Alex, if you're talking about moving the mouse to the top of the even and dragging downward, that's NOT an envelope. That's simply a means of lowering the volume for the entire event. But it's not an envelope. Use the Volume Envelope (in the versions that have it) and you'll understand.

But... the bottom line is that ALL versions of Vegas *CAN* increase the volume. Some versions just have more options than others.
