Just click on the second clip in the time line and drag it to the right to make room for the in-between clip. drag in the in-between clip and butt it up next to the 1st then butt the 3rd next to the middle. Snapping is turned on by default I think. You can just drag any video or audio event anywhere you want in the time line, even from track to track. How easy is that? Try doing that in Avid or FCP.
