Sync voice with lips

Hi,

I'm interested in putting video online. I realize that everyone recommends that a person should get a camcorder that allows an external mic hookup. Well I just can't afford one, so I have a handycam that has no external mic plug. But I have a lavelier mic that I will use to record my speech while the handycam is recording my face and voice through its built-in mic.

OK, so my question is this: if I learn how to use Sony Vegas will I be able to mute or delete the voice track that the handycam recorded, and then sync my personal mic track to my lips on the video?

I would appreciate your help.
