Question: Seeing an overlapping box in Preview Screen

Hi everyone,

I am new to Adobe Preiere and might not be noticing something very obvious, so apologies in advance. I opened my new video in Premiere and could edit it just fine, but in the preview screen I see a light purple box covering the video. The box disappears if I click on the video, but as soon as I click play, the box reappears. Does anyone know what may cause this? I have looked everywhere but can't figure it out.
