file format not supported

file format not supported

I have Premeier CS3 and just purchased the book- "Adobe Premere Pro CS3 Classroom in a Book:. When I try to open up the first lesson, I get an error message that says:

"File format not supported" - I'm trying to open Lesson1.prpoj. Can anyone assist me with this, I can't even get pass step one.
