To nest a sequence..
Create a project.
Do all of your editing within a sequence/timeline.
Than, you can create another sequence and drop your first sequence into it. You drop the edited sequence into the new timeline just as if it were a single clip.

You might use this if you intend to apply an effect to an entire sequence, instead of applying it to each individual clip.
Or, if you are editing a long feature. You could edit each scene in it's own sequence. Than, drop each scene sequence into a 'Final' timeline, for export.

So, the nest is the final sequence, the one that holds the other (nested) sequences.
