Thanks Timothy,
I was creating a file for print . . . However, I wanted to send a proof via email and the file was about 8MB.
So I had to adjust a low-res file in Photoshop to reduce the file size.
I was hoping that there could be another method to create a trasparent (alpha) channel that didn't seem so awkward.
Thanks for clearing that up for me.
