Optical Flares White Box Freezing Issue

Whenever, I try to access options on Optical Flares I receive a white box and After Effects freezes. When I place the flare onto a composition however I can see the original flare, manipulate it, change the color, etc. This was done on a clean install and I have the lastest version of After Effects CS5. Does anyone have a fix or know some things I may try to try and fix it?

Mac OS X Lion
After Effects CS5 (10.0.2)
Radeon 6850
8 GB RAM
