Wait before we go any further here.

Am I correct in reading that you have in image sequence that you've conformed to 5 frames/sec, and you want your sound effect to be there every five frames?

That could get really annoying. As a demonstration, open Premiere, and put your sound effect in an audio channel with five frames between each. Then play it.
