you may have problems finding a downloadable manual from 1995... it may have taken days to download a pdf manual with a 128kbps modem over the phones lines back then... so i'm not sure they would have been producing them unless it was for cd distribution (included with the installer). since it doesn't seem like it was included with your installer, it may not exist.
the best place to look would be adobe, maybe try a post on their after effects forum.
