MAC or PC?

Hello
I've always been working on a PC (home made)
But i'm about to buy a Mac Pro :
# One 2.8GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon
# 2Go (2x1Go)
# ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT 256MB GDDR3
My PC is :
Windows XP pro
Inter Core 2 CPU
6300 @ 1.86 GHz
2 Go Ram
Nvidia GeForce 6200 TurboCache
I wanted to know what's better to have, a PC or a MAC?
I guess it depens of course, of its configuration.
But i've always heard that After Effects and when it comes to video programs, it's better on PC...
Plus I feel the navigation of the PC smoother than on a MAC, so that's what scares me a bit, to change : i'm afraid not to be as fast on a MAC than on my PC...
Any advices or comment about the difference between both?
thanks!
valerie
