Dunno if this will help, but make sure you save your project.

Then close anything you dont need running (instant messangers, itunes, p2p sharing programs anything of the sort that you dont NEED running).

Then in afterfx go to edit -> purge -> all
then try previewing it again...

if this helps, then its likely that either 1. you're doing too much and don't have enough memory, or 2. you just plain need more memory.
