Well, I have had clips up to an hour long...most are under though, between 5 and 40 min. How long is long to you?

Absolutely. One will conform the sequence to it's settings, and then you'll have to render the other...eventually. You can totally mix them without needing to render. You'll get a green render bar and that means full real time (without matching the settings exactly)
