50i is 25fps interlaced. It is reserved for Europre broadcast standards. 30fps is What we use in the US. The two frame rates aren't easily compatible. You'll have to use compressor to change the 50i to 30p or vice versa. You might have the best luck editing both together in a 60i sequence. FCP X might be able to deal with that. Good luck.
