Hi Chris thanks for getting back, I am capturing from aBDV1808i Sony
I have done it this way for years, but I don't know what has changed.
The capture settings are apple firewire.DV Pal 48 I'm in Australia
It captures sort of jerky and then after 2 sec goes black, then tells me about time codes, time codes are not important to me as I only capture now.
Another project I am working on (which was fine) now won't play on the timeline, it stalls and jumps
The only thing I changed was the scratch disk as I added a new storage disk.
I moved files around onto the new disk, all this started at the same time sorry to sound vague but I only use FCP for this one thing and don't know what I may have done to change things.
Any ideas would help I will try them all, I don't use the Mac for anyting else so it is a mystery to me.
I also have a problem with the HDD it tells me to run repair disk but its not lit up so I can't.
Thanks again, I'm lost as it has never given me any grief before.
Gail
