NOTE* This post has an additional part at the end. Thank you. Maybe I wasn't as clear as I could've been in my orig post. When I ONLY burned a DVD of MANY 7 second clips in iDVD, all of them looked as they should according to how they were exported in Quicktime conversion. BUT, when I burned the full 8 minute clip, that one of the 7 second clips was clipped out from,( ie. both the 8 min and the 7 sec clip it was taken from, had exactly the same export settings in QT conversion, and they are the same sequence indeed), the 8 minute clip DID NOT burn as the correct look and shape it should have. And even when i added the 7 second clip along with the 8 min clip on the same DVD burn, the 7 sec clip looked as it should, but the 8min clip did not. SO, I don't possible see how QT conversion export could be the problem. Both short and long clips look as they should in Quick time.
On this sequence I'm talking about, all I did was change the in/out points on the timeline- one comprised an 8 minute length, and the other in/out point comprised a 7 second version. I exported them out of FC via QT conversion with EXACTLY the same settings.
And an additional thought. I fooled around with compressor and I hate it and can't get it to work. I think my old version of Compressor is missing some part. And with everything I've done correctly in exporting everything in QT conversion, I really can't see how QT conversion is the problem.
